Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Housing Development Authority (IHDA) Board Members announced the conditional awards worth $26 million in federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) that funds 18 housing developments in 12 counties all over Illinois State.

According to Illinois Governor, his administration is committed to giving Illinois residents access to affordable housing to build better lives with their families.
Allocating $26 million through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to build more home units, providing more families with a safe place to call home, said to Illinois Governor.
Illinois Governor and IHDA will continue to utilize every tool to deliver just access to housing and opportunity for the most vulnerable residents.

The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program
This program was created through the Tax Reform Act passage. The Internal Revenue Service allocates tax credits annually to each state based on population. IHDA manages the program on behalf of Illinois and awards tax credits to affordable and safe housing projects.
