Uplift Harris Pilot Program Will Provide Relief to Several Low-Income Families in Harris County
A pilot program called Family Financial Stability and Income Program or Uplift Harris will give $500 monthly payments for 18 months to eligible low-income families in Harris County, which will provide relief to several residents.
The pilot program of the Uplift Harris will give direct payments from more than $20.5 million budget to several eligible low-income families, who are struggling with financial stability and meeting their needs, including housing, transportation, food, and other expenses.
According to the reports from Houston Public Media, the pilot program will also address the economic inequality in the county, especially with the increasing cost of living of low-income families due to inflation.

Eligibility for Low-Income Families Who Will Receive Relief For 18 Months Under Uplift Harris Pilot Program
Low-income families in Harris County with income below 200% of the federal poverty line will be eligible for the $500 monthly payment under the Uplift Harris pilot program.
However, the pilot program for low-income families will face challenges because of a new law called HB 2127, as its unclear regulations may affect the launching of the program.
