On Thursday, the Governor of New York publicized a conceptual agreement on a $229 billion budget after almost a month of impasse.
The new plan of the Governor of New York reached with the lawmaking leaders. The budget plan will include the increase of minimum wage to $16 an hour in New York City starting in 2024. The payroll taxes on New York’s businesses will be raised to pay for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s budget shortages, and the controversial bail reform laws will be revised.
This year’s budget process tried the Governor of New York’s ability to set her priorities while working with an increasingly broadminded arm of the legislature.
