Gov. Burgum Finally Signs a Massive Tax Relief Package

North Dakota taxpayers celebrated after Gov. Burgum finally signed House Bill 1558 at the Capitol, providing a massive $515 tax relief package for the taxpayers’ income and property tax.

Gov. Burgum claimed that the bill would ensure an income tax relief worth $358 million and a $156.7 million property tax relief to ease the tax burden for individual taxpayers in North Dakota.

According to The Williston Herald report, there will be an expected savings of $76 million for the top tax bracket, $178 million for the middle-income tax bracket, and $104 million for the bottom tax bracket after the bill takes effect.

Gov. Burgum Signs the Largest Tax Relief Package in North Dakota

With the $515 income and property tax relief package, the bill that Gov. Burgum signed became the largest tax relief package in North Dakota’s tax history, which made it more meaningful and significant for the state’s taxpayers across the tax brackets.

Gov. Burgum emphasized that the bill wasn’t their original plan for North Dakota’s tax; however, the tax relief package will greatly benefit individual taxpayers, especially those who are part of lower-income families.
