Food stamps: Alaskans will receive up to $3,487 in February SNAP benefits if they qualify by tomorrow

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program payments for February will be sent to every Alaskan household that is enrolled in the program tomorrow.

Each family that participates in SNAP in Alaska receives payments on the first of each month, no matter the case number or last name. Funds to all participating beneficiaries will also be made on Thursday by North Dakota, Vermont, and Rhode Island.

In Alaska, 92,100 persons, or around 12% of the state’s total population, are on food stamps. In Alaska, the average monthly payment for each family member is $271. Families are divided into 3 regions in the Last Frontier State: Urban, Rural I, and Rural II. The maximum monthly payment varies depending on the area.

The maximum payment to families in urban regions will be $374 for a single household and $1,248 for a family of four.
