In six days, Arizona will have finished its food stamp distribution to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients for Arizona residents for the month of August.
Arizona residents will receive all SNAP benefits valued up to $1,691 by Sunday as Arizona will have its food stamp distribution
According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, food stamp distribution will be done on the first 13 days of each month, based on the first letter of a beneficiary’s last name.
A household of eight is eligible for food stamp distribution with a maximum payment of $1,691, while a household of four is eligible for a maximum payment of $939. In addition, a single-person household can receive up to $281. In addition to the said food stamp distribution, each additional person in an Arizona household receives $211 in SNAP benefits.
A household with one or two individuals receives a minimum monthly payment of $23 during food stamp distribution.
According to the most recent data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, around 825,700 Arizona people participate in SNAP food stamp distribution, accounting for 11% of the state’s population. As of fiscal 2022, around 41,206,900 persons, or 12% of the national population, received food stamps.
The monthly amount for qualifying SNAP consumers can be accessed through a Nutrition Assistance electronic benefits transfer card, which can be swiped like a debit card at checkout at most grocery stores, convenience stores, and participating farmers’ markets.
The fiscal 2023 SNAP food stamp distribution schedule began on October 1 and will finish on September 30.
