Flying Electric Cars Revolution Takes Off: Alef Aeronautics Secures Pre-Orders to Sell Groundbreaking Vehicles through Car Dealerships

Having obtained legal approval for its innovative flying electric cars to operate in the United States, Alef Aeronautics has achieved another milestone by securing pre-orders to sell these futuristic vehicles through traditional car dealerships, a groundbreaking development.

The future of transportation is rapidly approaching as Alef Aeronautics, a pioneering company in the field of flying electric cars, takes a significant step forward

Alef Aeronautics embarked on a mission in 2015 to push the boundaries of sustainable travel by creating a drivable car equipped with vertical takeoff and landing abilities (eVTOL). With the support of venture capitalist Tim Draper, who invested $3 million in seed money, the company unveiled its scaled prototype and proprietary electric propulsion technology. The result of their dedication and innovation was revealed on October 19, 2022, with the launch of the world’s first 100% flying electric cars, known as “Model A.”

The “Model A” is not only capable of driving 200 miles on regular roads but can also cover 110 miles in the air. Its unique capabilities earned it a Special Airworthiness Certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration, making it a trailblazer in the field of electric aviation. The production of “Model A” flying electric cars is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with deliveries expected shortly after.

Despite the vehicle’s availability being at least two years away, there is already significant demand for the flying electric car. Alef Aeronautics reported that pre-orders for “Model A” flying electric cars have soared to 2,500, a remarkable increase from the 400 initial pre-orders received at the end of the previous year. This surge in interest translates to a staggering $750 million in revenue once the cars are delivered. Interested buyers had the option of reserving their vehicle with a deposit of $150 for standard processing or $1,500 for priority processing.

Alef’s historic achievement extends to collaborating with a California-based car dealership, making it the first company ever to take pre-orders for a modern aircraft through traditional automotive channels

The innovative design of “Model A” allows it to carry one or two passengers and operate both as a roadworthy vehicle and an eVTOL aircraft.

Alef Aeronautics has even more ambitious plans in the pipeline, with a four-person sedan named “Model Z” slated for release in 2035. “Model Z” is projected to offer an impressive 300 miles of flying range and a driving capacity of 220 miles, all starting at a base price of $35,000.

The electric aviation industry is rapidly expanding, with various companies nearing the final stages of prototype development. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng’s Aero HT secured the first flight permit for a crewed eVTOL in China earlier this year. Meanwhile, on the US West Coast, Doroni Aerospace successfully tested a two-seater eVTOL, marking another significant step in the evolution of flying electric cars. As the era of flying electric cars dawns upon us, it’s clear that Alef Aeronautics is at the forefront of this groundbreaking revolution in transportation.
