Federal Funding Bill For Wider And Easy Internet Access, Rejected.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds already signed 50 bills into law except one, the SF388 of Iowa Communications Alliance. The bill passed both in legislative chamber and got a unanimous vote. The bill is about the federal funding bill where it will use the federal standards and limits the federal government delegates.
Reynolds explain in her letter to Secretary of State Paul Pate, that there is a leverage federal funding for expanding the internet access in Iowa thus it should retain the authority to maintain the state standards that will overpower those in the federal government and said that she understands that the bill passed in the senate without a problem.

Iowa Communications Alliance CEO Dave Duncan said in a statement that he respects the decision of the governor and will just suffice with current federal broadband grant funding without the legislation.
