The Farm Fresh RI initiative will give people more access to fresh foods from farms and markets

The Farm Fresh RI initiative will give people more access to fresh foods from farms and markets. More farmers and local markets will begin to accept SNAP benefits.

US Senator Jack Reed helped secure funding to support Farm Fresh RI and rationalize the SNAP benefits so they can be used to make electronic payments available to more farmers and local markets.

In addition to supporting the initiative of Farm Fresh and buying the technology needed, the funding will go to make SNAP food purchasing available online.

The Farm Fresh initiative is to make SNAP access simple and affordable

The Senator, local organization, and Farm Fresh RI celebrated making SNAP accessible, simple, and affordable.

Farm Fresh RI stated the funding helped to expand the Hope Harvest Program, which collects unharvested vegetables and fruits that would go to waste and give them to local food stores and nonprofits.
