Expanded SNAP to Provide College Students with Food Security
The expanded SNAP or the Enhance Access to SNAP Act of 2023 (EATS Acts of 2023) aims to expand the current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to several college students, addressing the increasing the issues of food insecurity among them.
The proposed legislation claimed that the expanded SNAP would help several college students who are experiencing hunger and do not have enough access to food every day.
The expanded SNAP will also change the requirements of the beneficiaries, including the exclusion of college students’ attendance and their employment, Sierra Sun Times reported.

Expanded SNAP Receives Support from Colleges and Universities
The expanded SNAP will provide relief that would help college students afford meals and not choose between studying, working, and eating because of the expansion of the program’s eligibility.
Several college students from low-income families who are struggling and experiencing food insecurity will benefit from the expanded SNAP, which led to receiving support from various colleges and universities.
The colleges and universities are looking forward to passing and implementing the expanded SNAP that will address the hunger and food insecurity of several college students.
