Claim Your Share! Clif Bar to Pay $12M Settlement – See If You’re Eligible

If you’ve bought Clif Bars in the past few years, you may be entitled to some cash. Clif Bar & Company has agreed to pay $12 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing the brand of misleading marketing. The lawsuit claimed that Clif Bar’s packaging gave the impression that the products were healthier than they actually are, despite containing high amounts of added sugar.

While Clif Bar denies any wrongdoing, the company decided to settle to avoid a lengthy court battle. Now, customers who purchased certain Clif Bar products within specific timeframes can file a claim to receive a payment.

Who Is Eligible?

You may qualify for a payout if you purchased Clif Bars within these periods:

  • California and New York residents – Between April 19, 2014, and March 31, 2023
  • All other U.S. residents – Between March 31, 2019, and March 31, 2023

The settlement includes Original Clif Bars and Clif Kid ZBars, as long as they were bought for personal use and not for resale.

How Much Can You Get?

The amount you receive depends on how many bars you bought and whether you have proof of purchase.

If you don’t have proof of purchase:

  • Up to 30 bars – $5
  • 31 to 60 bars – $10
  • More than 60 bars – $15

If you do have proof of purchase:

  • First 60 bars – $15
  • Each additional bar – $0.25

Receipts or store loyalty card records can be used as proof of purchase. Without proof, the maximum you can receive is $15.

Why This Settlement Matters

This case highlights the growing number of lawsuits against food companies for allegedly misleading health claims. Consumers are becoming more aware of what they eat and how products are marketed. While Clif Bar maintains that its labels were truthful, this settlement serves as a reminder that companies must be transparent about their products.

If you think you qualify for a payout, make sure to submit your claim before the deadline. Don’t miss out on your chance to get some cash back!
