The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) in Chicago is still accepting applications for the Resiliency Fund 2.0, which provides a one-time $500 relief payment to eligible domestic workers and undocumented residents.

The fund aims to support those who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and is available to those with a household income equal to or less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. The Resiliency Fund 2.0 is an initiative to provide financial assistance to those in need and help sustain their livelihoods during these difficult times. Eligibility for the fund is not dependent on citizenship or immigration status.
Meanwhile, Mobile Makers, a nonprofit organization that offers youth programming in tech, is hosting its first “Maker-Tinker-Thinker Block Party” in partnership with several neighborhood organizations. The event will take place on May 13 at 3390 W Bloomingdale Ave, Chicago, and will feature community-building activities for youth.

The City has already accommodated over 8,000 men, women, and children since August 2022, and is currently at maximum capacity for shelter space, services, and resources. The Mayor has urged the Governor to cease this “inhumane and dangerous” action.
