Californians criticize the “amazing” offer to pay migrant workers without jobs as “makes no sense”

Californians are opposing a state initiative that will provide illegal immigrants with weekly cheques as the state deals with a rise in immigration and an already constrained budget due to the termination of Title 42.

On “Fox & Friends,” state Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones, R., cautioned that the measure sends the incorrect message to possible migrants and encourages them to enter the country illegally.

“Get to California, receive free cash so you don’t have to look for employment,” the governor and the Democratic supermajority are saying, Jones said Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday. “That’s only going to bring a growing number of illegal immigrants to our state.” And currently, we’re attempting to prevent this information in its tracks while it expands to the rest of the nation.”

The Safety Net for All Workers Act, or SB 227, will use state funds to pay $300 each week for up to 20 weeks to unauthorized immigrants who were put off. A resolution endorsing the state legislation was easily approved by the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors in March.
