The California Reparations task force members are legal, civil rights, and lawmaker leaders. The task force was established in September 2020. The members were researching the wrongs doings created through slavery and discriminatory practices by California against Black people.
Some recommendation of the California Reparations task force is to subject the state to issue an official apology for the slavery of Africans in the country and to their descendants for creating classifications that established discrimination against African-Americans or black people.
The California Reparations task force recommends cash payments be made to descendants of Black people who became slaves. To simplify this, the California Reparations task force recommends creating a new agency that reviews claims and gives payments.
