California Governor created the California Reparations Task Force

The California Reparations Task Force made the compensation of damages into three categories: housing discrimination, health harm dating, and mass incarceration.

The California Reparations Task Force released figures on an annual reparations amount of $159,792. The computation of California Reparations Task Force is disproportionate years spent behind prison for African American multiplied by California state employees earned in a year on average.

The California Reparations Task Force added compensation for freedom loss, similar to Japanese American World War II detainees, and arrived at $159,792 annually of uneven incarceration. According to this formula used by California Reparations Task Force, California should compensate over $225 billion in damages to Black California residents for incarceration-related racism alone.

The California Reparations Task Force will make sure that black Americans will receive their damages payments

The California Reparations Task Force argued that the value of annual life absent anti-Black racial discrimination must be $127,226. The California Reparations Task Force estimated $10 million in lifetime earnings divided by 78.6 years.

The California Reparations Task Force estimated that Nearly 7 percent of California residents are expected to be eligible to receive reparations under the California Reparations Task Force recommendation.
