2021 Data Shows California Families Still Live in Poverty Despite State’s Wealth

According to the 2021 data from the United Ways of California, several California families are still living in poverty and struggling to make ends meet every day despite the immense wealth of the state.

Millions of California families have been suffering from financial needs, especially with the increasing cost of living in the state, including housing, food, bills, and other expenses, leading to the saddening result.

With the increasing number of California families who are living in poverty and near poverty, the state was also experiencing economic stress despite having one of the largest economies in the world up to date.

Millions of California Families Struggle to Make Ends Meet Every Day Amidst State’s Relief Programs

Despite the state’s efforts to provide relief through several relief programs, including guaranteed basic income programs, tax credits, and direct payments, millions of California families are still struggling every day with the state’s high cost of living yet low incomes.

Calmatters reported that instead of providing them with several short-term relief programs, California families should rather be given good quality education, more job opportunities, higher incomes, and affordable housing.
