Qualifying candidates would be classified as low-to-medium-income families in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The city will use $15 million from federal disaster recovery funds to create more affordable housing opportunities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Redeveloping Ownership Opportunities Together or ROOTs program and Cedar Rapids, Iowa seek to directly assist families affected by the derecho last 2020 that swept the Midwest.
The direct payment money comes from the US Housing and Urban Development Department and is assigned to the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
