140 immigrant households in California receive $400 monthly as part of a national basic income program. The money is available for households to use however they feel fit.
The nonprofit Mission Asset Fund, which is funding the $400 per month, and the city of Coachella, California, collaborated to create the Immigrant Families Recovery Program. If a candidate was not eligible for government aid at the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, their application was given priority.
“Participating households can expect $400 in monthly financial support for 12 or 24 months,” a Mission Asset Fund representative informed the Washington Examiner. This indicates that the final class of families participating in the program is scheduled to finish in March 2025.
390 individuals submitted applications to the program; 140 were accepted. For a total of 12 months, some beneficiaries would receive $400 each month, while others might receive the same amount each month for 24 months. Based on the Desert Sun, Mission Asset Fund is researching what serves best for every group.
According to the spokesperson, participants in this program can anticipate receiving their $400 monthly installment on the fifteenth of every month.
