1.5 million Americans have not yet claimed the 2019 tax refund

The Internal Revenue Service broadcast that almost 1.5 million Americans nationwide have unclaimed the 2019 tax refund. The deadline is July 17, 2023, to file and claim their 2019 tax return. The Agency recommends Taxpayers must hurry to meet the deadline.

The Agency approximations are nearly $1.5 billion in refunds unclaimed because American Tax Payers haven’t yet filed their 2019 tax refund proceeds. The average median is $893 for this year.

The IRS reminds American taxpayers claiming their 2019 tax refund that the money may not get if they have not filed tax returns for 2020 and 2021. IRS added that tax refunds apply to any amounts paid to the IRS and can be used to offset past-due federal debts, unpaid child support, or past-due state debts, such as student loans

Filing for the 2019 tax refund

The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers of several ways to gather the information needed to file this 2019 tax return.
