$1,700 Stimulus Checks Are Here! See If You Qualify With These 4 Simple Rules

Great news for Alaskans! The highly anticipated $1,700 stimulus payment, part of the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), is now being distributed. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you could see a direct deposit hitting your bank account soon.

The PFD is an annual benefit funded by Alaska’s oil and gas revenues, designed to share the state’s wealth with its residents. But not everyone qualifies—there are four key requirements to meet.

Who Can Get the $1,700 Check?

To receive this year’s PFD payment, you must:

Be a Resident of Alaska for All of 2024 – You need to have lived in Alaska from January 1 through December 31, with any absences not exceeding 180 days (except for approved reasons like military service or education).

Plan to Stay in Alaska – You can’t claim the PFD if you’ve established residency in another state. Your intent must be to live in Alaska indefinitely.

Have Been Physically Present in the State – You must have spent at least 72 consecutive hours in Alaska during the qualifying year.

Have No Felony Convictions Since 1997 – If you have been convicted of a felony after January 1, 1997, you will not be eligible for the payment.

How to Apply for the $1,700 PFD Check

If you haven’t applied yet, don’t wait! The deadline for 2025 applications is March 31, 2025. The easiest way to apply is online through the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend Division’s website. Online applications ensure secure processing and allow you to track your payment status.

When Will You Get Paid?

For those who have already applied and been approved, payments began rolling out on February 20, 2025.

Direct deposit is the fastest option—funds will appear in your bank account shortly after processing.

Paper checks take longer and will be mailed to the address on file.

To check your payment status, log into your myPFD account on the official website.

What You Need to Know

Don’t Miss the Deadline – If you fail to apply by March 31, 2025, you won’t receive the payment.

Update Your Info – Make sure your mailing address and banking details are correct to avoid delays.

Watch Out for Scams – The Alaska Department of Revenue warns residents about phishing scams. They will never ask for personal information via email or text. Only use the official PFD website for your application.

The $1,700 payout is a welcome financial boost for many Alaskans. If you meet the qualifications, don’t miss out—apply before the deadline and secure your share of the state’s oil wealth!
