Colorado’s Beautiful Landscape and Outdoor Activities Can’t Mask Some Serious Issues

Colorado is often praised for its beautiful scenery and fun outdoor activities. But like any place it has some problems. We can look at numbers to see which parts of Colorado might have more problems. For example places like Denver and Pueblo have more crime than other places in Colorado. This means that people there might feel less safe.

Money is also important. Some places in Colorado like Alamosa and Lamar have more people who do not have a lot of money. This can make it harder for them to get good education,  healthcare and places to live.

Lastly the environment is important. Some places in Colorado like Commerce City and Glenwood Springs have more pollution. This can make the air and water not as clean which can make people sick. In the end while Colorado is nice some places there have more problems. It is important to know about these issues so we can work together to make things better for everyone.

Unfavorable Locales to Reside in Colorado for 2024: The Top 10

  1. Fort Lupton. This small city in Weld County has a population of around 8,000 residents. It is situated about 35 miles northeast of Denver and is known for its industrial heritage particularly its oil and gas industry. Despite its small size Fort Lupton has a relatively high crime rate and its overall livability score is lower compared to other areas in Colorado.
  2. Aurora . As one of the largest cities in Colorado Aurora has a population of over 350,000 residents. It is a suburb of Denver located to the east and is known for its diverse population and strong military presence. However Aurora has faced challenges with crime rates particularly violent crime and has struggled with issues related to poverty and education.
  3. Sheridan. This small city in Arapahoe County has a population of around 6,000 residents. It is situated just southwest of Denver and is known for its historic downtown area. However Sheridan has faced challenges with crime rates particularly property crime  and has a relatively low median household income compared to other areas in Colorado.
  4. Lochbuie. This small town in Weld County has a population of around 6,000 residents. It is located about 30 miles northeast of Denver and is known for its rural atmosphere and agricultural heritage. Lochbuie has faced challenges with crime rate particularly property crime and has a relatively low median household income compared to other areas in Colorado.
  5. Federal Heights. This small city in Adams County has a population of around 12,000 resident. It is located just north of Denver and is known for its proximity to major highways and transportation routes.
  6. Trinidad.  This small city in Las Animas County has a population of around 8,000 residents. It is situated in southern Colorado Trinidad has faced challenges with crime rates particularly property crime and has a relatively low median household income compared to other areas in Colorado.
  7. Evans. This small city in Weld County has a population of around 20,000 resident. It is located just south of Greeley.
  8. Greeley . This city in Weld County has a population of over 100 000 resident. It is located about 50 miles northeast of Denver and is known for its strong agricultural heritage and outdoor recreational opportunities.
  9. Pueblo. This city in Pueblo County has a population of over 100 000 resident. It is located about 100 miles south of Denver and is known for its strong outdoor recreational opportunities.
  10. Brighton. This city in Adams County has a population of over 40 000 resident. It is located about 20 miles northeast of Denver and is known for its strong agricultural heritage.
