Asbury Park, Millville, Bridgeton, Atlantic City, Woodbury, Lindenwold, Neptune City, Camden, Elizabeth, and Absecon are included. These cities have worrisome violent and property crime rates, so be cautious.

Asbury Park has thrice the state average crime rate, highlighting violent offenses. Though less notorious than Camden, Millville has the fifth-highest property crime rate in the state.

Bridgeton, an hour south of Philadelphia, is New Jersey’s third most dangerous city due to its high 2020 burglary rate. Atlantic City, known for its casinos and boardwalks, ranks fourth with the state’s third-highest murder rate.

Philadelphia-area Woodbury ranked fifth, highlighting property crime problems. Lindenwold, southeast of Camden, ranks sixth due to high rape and burglary rates.

Due to its property crime danger, Neptune City deserves attention despite having the lowest violent crime rate. Nationally known for its violent criminality, Camden ranks sixth with the highest violent crime rate and second-highest murder rate in 2020.

Elizabeth, New Jersey’s fourth-most populous city, has the ninth-highest crime rate, mostly robberies and assaults. Finally, Absecon, a coastal municipality in southern New Jersey, ranks tenth with high property crime rates, including burglary and larceny.
