Serie A club Bologna and the Scotland national football team are both represented by Aaron Hickey, a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a left-back.
£21m Scot Arsenal reportedly received 4/10 on display last night
Arsenal and Bologna have reportedly agreed on a transfer deal of £21 million for Aaron Hickey.
It’s been an amazing start to his Serie A career for the 19-year-old left-back.
Now it looks like a big-money transfer to the Premier League is in the works.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign a versatile left-sided defender before the start of next season.
Bologna defender Hickey has previously been linked with a move to Newcastle, Manchester United, and Napoli, as well as other European clubs. However, he is equally at home playing on the right side, which makes him an intriguing prospect for the North London club to sign on the dotted line.
As of now, it appears like Arsenal has taken the lead in the fight for the signature of the Scotland national team’s captain. On the basis of CalcioNapoli24.it’s claims, the two clubs have agreed on a transfer cost of £21 million. Claims have been made that Riccardo Bigon, Bologna’s sporting director, recently traveled to London to meet with the Arsenal. Finally, a deal was reached for the player as a result of those negotiations.

When he was called up for the 2021 World Cup squad in September, he was unable to play because of an additional injury. He then withdrew from the next squad, claiming that he needed a break.

On March 24, he played in a 1–1 tie with Poland as a senior international.
Playing Style
Hickey is mostly a left-back, but he can also fill in at center midfield, right back, and center back, and his “versatility is yet another essential attribute.”

Hearts boss Craig Levein characterized Hickey as “he’s got really good defensive qualities… he might wind up going back into midfield… [he might be] fantastic holding midfielder with his great awareness of danger and his ability to get out of tight situations with the ball.” In addition to Levein’s assessment of Hickey’s shyness, quietness, and reserve
Captain Steven Naismith of Hearts has lauded Hickey’s intelligence, while Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson has lauded his maturity, saying that “he’s very mature for his age, he’s composed, has a good physique, and ticks all the boxes. However, Hickey has batted down the comparisons between him and another Scottish left-back Andy Robertson.
