On December 22, 1998, Ruud was born in Oslo, Norway. He had a fantastic junior career, culminating in him being ranked as the junior world number one in 2016. Five of Casper Ruud’s five ATP singles titles have been won in 2021, making it his most productive year on the court.

Casper Ruud’s Tennis Play
Reigning French Open boys’ singles champion Corentin Denolly defeated Ruud in the third round. While competing at the US Open and Wimbledon in 2015, he made it to the third round each time he played boys’ singles, which was his best result at a Junior Grand Slam at the time.
Ruud and partner Miomir Kecmanovi reached the quarterfinals of the 2015 Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles before falling to the eventual champions L Hoàng Nam and Sumit Nagal in the final. Their campaign at the 2015 US Open Boys’ Doubles came to an end in the first round due to an early exit. To reach the final four of the 2016 French Open Boys’ Doubles, Ruud and Kecmanovi needed a miraculous run.

The Davis Cup
With fellow countryman Viktor Durasovic he helped Norway move up from Group Three Europe Zone to Group Two Europe/Africa Zone in the Davis Cup in 2015.
Latvia defeated Lithuania in the first round of the 2016 Davis Cup, with Ruud and Durasovic going down 3–2. They beat Luxembourg 3–2 in the playoffs to secure a spot in Group Two Europe/Africa. Norway, which had previously been a member of Davis Cup Group Two Europe/Africa Zone for the years 2017 and 2018, was promoted to World Group I playoff status in 2019 after defeating Georgia. This was made possible by changes to the Davis Cup system. They beat Barbados in the playoffs and qualified for the World Group I tournament.
