Why did Gervais and Fallon never tie the knot?
Before they were famous, Ricky Gervais and Jane Fallon had a chance encounter.
After meeting at the University of College London in 1982, Gervais and Fallon have been inseparable ever since. They first met through a common friend, and then struck up a conversation when they saw one other a few times. They ended up living together after college.
“We had no money clearly after college,” the comedian said to People. “Our first flat was a one-room in a place called King’s Cross, which [was] a really terrible area.”
That’s all we could afford at this time. This was the room where we kept our tiny mattress. I could get to the fridge from my bed and open it. If I wanted to pee in the middle of the night, I simply went to the sink in the other flats. It had gotten closer now. I once remember Jane saying, “Oh, at least take the dishes out first,” in her fuzzy state.
As a writer for The 11 O’Clock Show, Gervais made his name, while Jane started working on programs like EastEnders and Teachers as an executive producer. Eventually, Gervais came up with The Office and couldn’t believe he hadn’t come up with it sooner. Gervais was finally noticed by Hollywood at the age of 40 after writing, directing, and starring in The Office.
“Why didn’t I do this sooner?” he asked Jane. Because you wouldn’t have been able to do it.'” When it came to having a voice and dealing with all of this, I think it took me until I was 40. At 21, “I imagine it would have been over in a year.”

Nonetheless, as the years went by and they both became more established in their respective occupations, they never married since it never even occurred to them to do so.
Jane Fallon and Ricky Gervais say they’re “happily unmarried”
From the beginning of their relationship, Gervais and Jane Fallon were aware that they shared similar views on marriage and having children. From the beginning, they were honest with each other. But Gervais’s argument, at least, isn’t that unusual.
In response to a question from The Times in 2010, Gervais stated, “Don’t see the point. Our false marriage has lasted longer than any real one could have, so in that sense, we are married. However, there is no use in us having a formal ceremony before God because He does not exist.
“I don’t think there’s any purpose in us getting married,” Gervais told David Letterman. There should be no more toasters in our homes; our families should never get together again; it would be dreadful.”
A Family Isn’t in the Cards For Ricky Gervais and Jane Fallon
They “simply didn’t fancy” the idea of starting a family. It’s a hassle. We didn’t want to go through with it. Because we didn’t want to spend 16 years of our lives doing so, we decided not to. In addition to the fact that there are too many children, ”
As someone who has written two New York Times best-sellers and produced numerous award-winning television shows, Fallon was relieved to learn that Gervais had the same feelings about having children as she had. However, the “Worst. Idea. Ever.” author had second thoughts about not having children after watching her friends become grandparents, which made her wonder if their decision was a fatal blunder.
I have no regrets about not having children. In The Guardian, she stated, “Even as a child, I found it difficult to envision being a mother. “I didn’t want to have children since it didn’t feel like me to do so. I was never meant to be a mother.

The good news is that my partner Ricky, who is also not a big fan of fatherhood, agreed with me.” We were satisfied with our choice and remain so.
Jane Fallon and Ricky Gervais Are “Couple Goals”
The pair has a cat that they care for like a child and are passionate about animal rights and charity activities.
Yet, their bond is stronger than ever, despite Gervais’ constant trolling of Fallen on Twitter. He makes fun of her lack of social connections as an ongoing joke. We doubt they’ll celebrate their 40th anniversary as a couple in a year.
