An American sprinter, Michael Arthur Norman Jr. (born December 3, 1997), is a member of Team USA. Indoor 400 meters: 44.52 seconds, world record time. Tenth on the all-time list is his time of 43.45 at the Mt. SAC Relays in 2019. In 2016, he won the 200-meter and 4100-meter relay world championships for the first time in his young career.
At the 2016 Olympic Trials, Norman beat reigning USA champion Justin Gatlin in the 200 meters semi-finals, and his name quickly spread across the globe as a promising young athlete. Final standings: 5th; Olympic team: Not selected; failed to qualify However, he won two gold medals at the World Junior Championships later that summer, including a championship record of 20.17 seconds in the 200 meters.
Educational Life
At the NCAA Division, I Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 10, 2018, Norman ran a world-best time of 44.52 seconds in the 400 meters, which is an American and collegiate record. Later in the day, he and the rest of the USC Trojans 4 x 400-meter relay team broke the American and collegiate records in a world-best time of 3:00.77.
Because teammate Rai Benjamin hasn’t been cleared by the IAAF to compete for the United States, the 400-meter and 4×400-meter relay performances were not ratified as official world records. A time of 43.61 seconds set by Norman at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 8th, 2018 set the 2018 world record for the 400m. In the 400-meter dash, he was ranked sixth fastest in the world this year.

Professional Career
On June 30, 2018, Michael Norman made his professional debut at the 2018 IAAF Diamond League in Paris, winning the (non-scoring) 200 m in a personal best time of 19.84 s ahead of his USC teammate Rai Benjamin who finished second in 19.99 s.
To break 10 seconds in the 100-meter sprint for the first time, on July 20, 2020, at the AP Ranch High-Performance Invite #2 Track Meet, he ran a 9.86s. When Wayde van Niekerk broke the 400-meter world record in that event, Michael Norman became the second athlete to join the “Sub 10s, the 20s, 44s club” for the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter sprints. He joined the team in 2021 when he was 25 years old.
