comedian, actor, and producer from the U.S. Anthony Jeselnik was born in 1978 and raised in 1979 in New York City and has worked in the entertainment industry ever since. He is known for his dark comedy style, which emphasizes ironic misdirection, nonsequiturs, biting insults, arrogant demeanor, and a stage persona that frequently takes amoral stances.
Career
In the first season of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jeselnik worked as a writer and later hosted a special for Comedy Central called Comedy Central Presents: Jeselnik. After Shakespeare, his critically acclaimed debut album, was released in 2010, he began writing for Comedy Central Roasts and then performed in the 2011 roast of Donald Trump.
As far back as 2012, he appeared on the roasts of Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr When Caligula was released in 2013, he hosted his own Comedy Central show for two seasons, The Jeselnik Offensive; it was also an hourlong stand-up special.
He took over as host of NBC’s Emmy Award-nominated show Last Comic Standing on July 22, 2015. In October 2015, Netflix released its second stand-up special, Thoughts and Prayers. Rosenthal and Jeselnik Vanity Project (RJVP) is a podcast hosted by Gregg Rosenthal and Jeselnik that aired on NFL Media. To avoid confusion, Comedy Central’s Podcast Network re-aired season two in 2018 under the name The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project (or JRVP).
