Sydney Wilson discovered dead

On Monday, July 31, just before 9 p.m., the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a complaint of a shooting at the Smith’s gas station close to Central Avenue and Coors Boulevard Southwest. They discovered Sydney Wilson dead from what seemed to be a gunshot injury. Reports from True Crime Daily.

Wilson was attempting to use a GPS phone app to hunt down her white Hyundai when witnesses reported to police that it had been stolen.

On the evening of July 31, it was claimed that four adolescents drove around in the stolen Hyundai as she was looking for her car and stopped at a Walgreens to steal booze.

Wilson was able to locate the stolen Hyundai, according to the police, and while speaking with a friend on the phone, she declared her intention to confront the occupants of the stolen car.

The Hyundai struck a black Mustang in front of Wilson as she got out to approach the teens in the second vehicle she was operating. It then slammed a curb.

Barela was accused of murder

Marcos Barela, a thirteen-year-old boy who was occupying the left rear passenger seat of the car that had been stolen, reportedly got out of the car and fled the scene of the collision.

After that, Barela allegedly took a gun from his waistband and fired two to three shots at the white Hyundai, hitting Wilson at least once and killing her. Wilson then went over to the Hyundai to talk to the kids.

In a report from Fox News, Barela was accused of murder, tampering with evidence, and unauthorized possession of a weapon by a person on Aug. 2, according to police, when he allegedly turned himself in. He was then lodged in the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center.

Sam Bregman, the district attorney for Bernalillo County, stated that his office would work to keep the adolescent in jail.

Bregman continued by saying that they are also going to investigate how a 13-year-old was able to obtain the firearm used in his terrible crime.
