Former Mr. Bungle band member Theo Lengyel, a famous ’80s rocker, was arrested in California on a first-degree murder accusation for the disappearance of his girlfriend, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann.
Musician Theo Lengyel Arrested in Connection with Missing Girlfriend’s Murder
The Capitola Police Department arrested Lengyel after finding human remains in a wooded location in the San Francisco Bay location while searching for the missing woman. The police stated on Facebook that the remains’ identification awaits Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office DNA confirmation.
The police said their investigation into Herrmann’s disappearance revealed foul play and implicated Lengyel. The 54-year-old musician was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on a first-degree murder charge and remained in custody without bond, according to Sheriff’s Office records.
After a week without contact, Alice Herrmann, 61, a Santa Cruz resident, was reported missing by her family on December 16. Investigators spotted Herrmann’s car outside Lengyel’s El Cerrito home after she disappeared. Theo Lengyel, known as “Mylo Stone” from Mr. Bungle, was a suspect owing to his difficult behavior with police.

Shortly after Herrmann’s disappearance, Lengyel was suspected of driving from El Cerrito to Portland, Oregon. Police seized his and Herrmann’s cars.
Police expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends and said the case is underway. Lengyel played saxophone, clarinet, and keyboards as “Mylo Stone.” in Mr. Bungle from 1985 to 1996.
