Prior to his mother’s second contact, Earl’s son didn’t start to get alarmed. He then hurried to his father’s office in Rutledge and broke the door down, leaving his home in Andalusia.
Many specifics from that June night are still clearly in Brent Cosby’s memory. When he forced that door open and discovered his father’s cold, rigid body, he claimed it was around 7:30. Brent remembers the significant quantity of blood, dialing 911, and giving CPR. He also recalls what the responding medical staff said.
Late that June 2016 night, forensics teams and even the district attorney eventually arrived. Despite their best efforts, Brent thinks it was too late because the murder scene had already been altered. Earl Cosby’s office had seen dozens of visitors, including deputies and family members, and his body had been moved about a number of times.
The 78-year-old Cosby’s father was found shot and dead in his office by Brent Cosby. In this scenario, he is also taking the initiative and providing solutions. He described his father as a straightforward countryman and said that no one had ever complained about him.
After serving in the military, Earl Cosby returned to his hometown of Rutledge, opened Cosby Body Shop, and settled into a routine. After visiting the bank and the supermarket, he would then visit his workplace.

Cosby family have not received any communication from authorities
Seven years have passed since the 70-plus-year-old man was killed in that office, and over that time, rumors have circulated in the small community of less than 500 residents. Many rumors, but no solid information. Cosby Body Shop is operated by his son Brent. In his honor, there is a wreath on the door and a special light.
The Cosby family believes that they have not received any communication from authorities regarding the ongoing inquiry and have been neglected. The mayor of Rutledge is one figurehead who has supported the family. A close friend of Earl Cosby, Steve Phillips, resided nearby.
Brent Cosby works as a therapist, helping his clients deal with various traumas. For a while, he also worked alone. His counseling sessions frequently center on what he witnessed that evening and coming to terms with the possibility that he might never learn who killed his father.
But that does not imply that they will give up looking. Earl Cosby’s office door still has a wreath on it, and the light is still on. Some years ago, cancer claimed the life of Brent’s brother.
