Chippewa Falls Man’s DUI Arrest Escalates: Open Container, Revoked License, and 7th Offense Unfold in Traffic Stop
The vehicle’s registered owner’s revoked license prompted the traffic stop. Officers instantly smelled alcohol on Shane Donaldson, the driver. They found an open alcohol container in the vehicle, adding to their concerns. Donaldson had a BAC limit of 0.02 at this moment, which worsened the situation.
To determine Donaldson’s impairment, officers ordered a field sobriety test. Donaldson agreed to a preliminary breath test at their request. The breath test showed a 0.09 BAC, over the legal limit. This increased the suspicion of intoxication, leading to the arrest.
The Village of Lake Hallie Police Department recommends serious charges, befitting the situation. Donaldson faces OWI-7th offense charges, marking his seventh DUI. He may also face penalties for driving while revoked, exacerbating his legal troubles.
