The Memphis Police Department has detained a guy who is accused of shooting his pregnant girlfriend before fleeing the site of the fight.
Memphis police: A pregnant woman was shot and is in critical condition at the hospital
According to Memphis police, a pregnant girlfriend was shot in North Memphis and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
In an article from Action News 5, officers responded to a call about a disturbance at a North Watkins Street home on August 29.
Officers were called to a gunshot at 7:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Watkins Street, where the expectant woman was discovered and sent to Regional One Hospital with critical wounds.
According to police, the suspected shooter sped off in a blue pickup truck.
Nearly 20 rounds were fired, and two officers were nearby when they heard them.
They were halted near North Watkins Street by the pregnant victim, a pregnant girlfriend ,who informed them that she was 36 weeks pregnant and had been shot in her upper left shoulder.

Campbell arrested on August 30, 2023
Officers spoke with the victim’s uncle while they were at the house, and he told them he had seen the girl and her boyfriend, Serggio Campbell, get into a fight.
The pregnant victim, a pregnant girlfriend ,was taken in critical condition to a neighboring hospital.
The day of Campbell’s arrest was August 30, 2023.
Charges and a bond have not yet been disclosed, reports Action News 5.
