A parking garage collapsed Tuesday in lower Manhattan’s Financial District, killing one worker, injuring five, and crushing cars as concrete floors fell on top of each other.

Tuesday, a deadly parking garage collapsed in lower Manhattan’s Financial District, killing 1 person and 5 were injured. According to the officials, the parking area collapsed as the concrete floors fell on top of each other crushing car that was parked. Adam Cohen one resident who saw the incident and lives in a neighboring building.
While they were in their house they felt the earth shake and there are smoke in the air. They were very curious about what is happening so they start walking around to see what was going on and then he found out the garage nearby collapsed.
Cohen immediately rushed and said he recognized one of the victims and he is a garage employee named Edwin, he immediately help him and brought him to the lobby nearby the apartment building before he was rescued and received medical attention. Cohen said that they were very devastated because his car was gone crashed in the deadly garage collapse and they were advised to stay in the hotel because they can’t stay in the apartment near the incident because the officials are still investigating the cause of the collapse.
