The Crime and Verdict

The town was shocked by the New Jersey man Hollingsworth’s first-degree murder, robbery, cruelty to animals, and unauthorized weapon possession. The jury’s August 2023 ruling sentenced him to 30 years without parole for the murder and 4 years for the dog’s killing.

On the fateful day of February 5, 2022, Evesham Township Police responded to distressing reports of a potential dog attack at the Olympus Apartments on Baker Boulevard.

Upon arrival, authorities uncovered the gruesome scene: Pierson lay lifeless with multiple stab wounds, and Django, a loyal companion, also succumbed to stab wounds nearby. It was a chilling tableau of violence and loss.
