Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has strongly condemned the recent attack on New York Police Department (NYPD) officers in Times Square by a group of migrants, labeling the acts of violence as “heinous.” Bragg asserted that his office is actively collaborating with law enforcement to bring all responsible individuals to justice.
Bragg’s Commitment to Justice
In a statement Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg expressed his commitment to working with the NYPD to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the “despicable acts.”
Emphasizing the urgency, he revealed plans to present charges to the Grand Jury on Tuesday ensuring accountability for every assailant in the attack on police officers. Bragg stressed that some of the most culpable individuals remain unidentified and efforts are underway to locate and hold them accountable.
The Manhattan DA affirmed that his office will not rest until every person involved in this appalling attack faces the consequences.
NYPD Commissioner’s Condemnation
NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Caban branded the attackers as “cowards” in a separate statement. He declared the assault on officers as an assault on society and highlighted the thorough investigation by the NYPD to identify and arrest every participant.
Expressing determination, Commissioner Caban pledged relentless collaboration with the Manhattan district attorney’s office to bring the perpetrators to justice. The incident wherein officers were kicked by the group before fleeing is being treated with utmost seriousness by law enforcement.
