Louisiana Educator in Custody for Sending Inappropriate Messages to 15-Year-Old Student

Tatum Hatch, a 32-year-old former teacher at West Monroe High School in Louisiana, was arrested for allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old student.

Investigation Unveils Alleged Inappropriate Relationship Between Teacher and Student

The investigation began after the local sheriff’s office received a tip about a possible student-teacher relationship. Hatch is accused of making inappropriate advances towards the young boy, including expressing a desire to take his virginity and touching him in her car. The school’s mission is to educate and positively influence students, but Hatch’s actions did not seem to align with this mission.

Authorities contacted the student’s father, who revealed that the relationship had been going on for a year and a half. Deputies found Instagram messages between the student and Hatch, in which she suggested having sex and sent naked pictures using the “vanish mode” on the app.

It was also reported that Hatch gave the boy money out of fear of a rumor she had heard about him.

Tatum Hatch Faces Charges Following Allegations of Misconduct Towards Student

Hatch resigned from her position at the school, and her photo was removed from the faculty directory. She has been charged with computer-aided solicitation of a minor by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. Hatch was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
