Police have received over 70 tips in relation to an Iowa nurse practitioner who has been arrested on sex crime charges
Authorities have seized electronic devices, a hidden camera clock, and a pen from Markley’s residence, discovering a commercial pornographic video depicting doctors conducting sex acts with patients in a clinical setting. The detectives also located multiple thumbnail images, including one of a teen boy with his genitals exposed, taken covertly in Markley’s clinic, according to an affidavit.
He is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, pimping, prostitution, and human trafficking. Although no charges have been made regarding crimes occurring during physical exams, several school districts and a university have issued alerts that Markley performed physicals for their students.
Police believe the allegations against Markley date back to 2008 and have now dedicated a special unit to investigate him
Markley’s search history showed searches on “tween porn sites,” and another criminal complaint alleges that he paid for sex at a local motel and at an apartment complex he owns. Markley is currently out on bond, and his attorney has not commented on the case. Ames and Gilbert public school districts, as well as Grand View University, are urging potential victims to come forward.
