In a recent incident, two individuals were apprehended on suspicion of breaking into a residence in Escondido. At the same time, a third suspect managed to escape and remains at large, as reported by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Swift Police Response and Apprehension
The incident unfolded in the 2900 block of Gait Way in the Harmony Grove planned community on Saturday at 8 p.m. Local authorities received a call indicating a possible burglary in progress.
Residents inside the home reported hearing a loud noise downstairs, subsequently identified as a shattered sliding glass door. Moments later, they confirmed the presence of intruders within their residence.
Responding promptly, a sheriff’s helicopter located the suspects near a nearby getaway car. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, but two men exited the vehicle and fled. Following an extended foot pursuit, law enforcement successfully apprehended one suspect, identified as 40-year-old Daniel Herrera. Meanwhile, the other individual managed to escape and is currently at large.4

Investigation Underway to Locate Third Suspect
Millaray Almendra Gonzalez Alegria, a 21-year-old female passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested in connection with the alleged burglary. Both Herrera and Alegria may face multiple charges, including residential burglary, conspiracy, and resisting a police officer. Alegria additionally faces a potential charge of committing a felony while on bail. Both suspects have been booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
Numerous stolen things have been recovered by the suspects who were apprehended, according to the sheriff’s department.
