A Michigan Ex-priest pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy after officiating a memorial service for the boy’s family more than 35 years ago.
Ex-Priest Guilty Of Sexually Harassing 5-Year-Old Boy After Giving Funeral Service To It’s Family
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced a statement in news that A former Michigan priest pleads guilty to sexually molesting a 5-year-old boy after his memorial service in the boy’s family funeral.
The suspect is Vincent DeLorenzo, 84 years old a former priest at Lansing Diocese, allegedly molesting a 5-year-old boy after giving service. The child was a student at Holy Redeemer School and Church in Burtonthe while the case is ongoing. Police said that the suspect was charged 35 years ago with one count of attempted criminal sexual conduct in the first degree in the year of 1995-2000. Now, the additional abuse charges stemming from a larger investigation into clergy sexual abuse will be dropped.
According to the attorney general’s office in 2019, DeLorenzo was one of five Michigan priests arrested with the same case of sexual assault, abusing children, and raped. The Ex-priest was arrested in Marion County, Florida, in May 2019.

He added that the plea was based on the consultation with DeLorenzo’s victims and that’s the reason why he was guilty. The Survivors’ Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) said that it is heartbroken to know that even priests are known to be molesting children nowadays. He said that he is hoping no one will suffer another clergy abuse because it is quite alarming and traumatic.
