As reported by law enforcement officials, Chicago cops have detained 5 individuals of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old policeman who was fatally shot Saturday morning after completing a night patrol just feet from her mother’s porch.
A source informed Fox News Digital on Monday that 4 individuals were detained during a barricade incident at 76th and Bishop streets on Sunday night, around five miles from the scene of Chicago Police Officer Areanah Preston’s death.
The state’s attorney’s office was reviewing the charges and had 48 hours to file accusations or free the individuals.
Chicago officers stated in an announcement that its SWAT team had arrived at an address on South Bishop Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, despite a representative for the agency claiming to have no formal information and that the inquiry was still underway.
Following a violent standoff there, people were brought into arrest concerning Preston’s death, according to a report from FOX 32 Chicago, claiming an additional source.
