A woman who authored a children’s book is facing murder charges for allegedly killing her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl
Which was later found to be five times the lethal dose in her husband’s system. The author had contacted the authorities to report her husband’s death, and the medical examiner discovered that the cause of death was a fentanyl overdose. Richins is also facing charges of possessing GHB, a recreational drug frequently used in dance clubs.
Richins had deleted text messages from her phone and may have attempted to poison her husband on Valentine’s Day, one month before his death
The couple had conflicts over a $2 million home that Kouri Richins purchased with the intention of reselling it quickly. Court documents reveal that Eric Richins, the deceased, was seeking a divorce and had recently changed his will and life insurance policy. Kouri Richins has been held without bail, and it is unknown where the children are at this time.
