Francisco Rodriguez-Rivera, 44, was arrested in Clovis, New Mexico when police responded to a report of an injured person at 5th Street and Sheldon Street. Jahmaal Glover, 28, was found bleeding from his head. Clovis Police immediately helped Glover, and EMTs took him to the hospital.
Clovis Man Stabs, Victimizes in Intense Altercation
Officers were led to a residence at East 6th Street and Sheldon Street after finding the injured victim. The residence held Francisco Rodriguez-Rivera. He was detained and questioned by Clovis police.
Detectives from Clovis Police interviewed Glover, who said an argument with Rodriguez-Rivera had turned physical. The fight saw Glover using a knife and Rodriguez-Rivera disarming him with a baseball bat. Rodriguez-Rivera then slashed and cut Glover, threatening to “kill him.”
Glover was cut and stabbed in the head, arms, and right leg. He is stable in a Lubbock, Texas, hospital after being moved.
A box cutter used in the assault was found at Rodriguez-Rivera’s home after a search request. Blood and cleanup evidence were also located throughout the residence.
