79-Year-Old Man Shoots His Neighbor to Death

Ettore Lacchei, a 79-year-old man, was arrested after fatally shooting his 59-year-old neighbor, William Martys, who was pronounced dead after being rushed to the Advocate Condell Medical Center.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a report of a man fighting for his life after suffering a gunshot wound at the head located near the 40700 block of North Black Oak Avenue, True Crime Daily reported.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that the 59-year-old victim was using a leaf blower in his yard when the 79-year-old man went to him, and they argued regarding his gardening tool, which led to the tragic incident.

79-Year-Old Man Arrested for Fatally Shooting His Neighbor

Authorities found the firearm that the 79-year-old man used in shooting Martys during the search warrant and immediately arrested him for first-degree murder.

The 79-year-old man had been in confrontations with his neighbors before. Some testified that he was seen with a firearm several times before the incident.

Authorities who worked hard with the investigation gained support and respect for constantly seeking justice for the deaths of Martys and other victims of various crimes in the state.
