An active shooter is on the move in Weirton, West Virginia as reported by local authorities. Police and law enforcement remain on standby and on high alert. 

Unwillingness to Surrender Leads To the Deployment of a Special Response Team

Authorities and law enforcement are on the scene, led by Weirton Deputy Chief, Scott Cook according to Richard Beatty of the Brooke County Sheriff’s Department. He is personally overseeing the response of the Weirton Police Department regarding this progressing incident, confirmed through Fox News Digital.

Active Shooter Is Now Surrounded

Negotiations with the active shooter are still ongoing however the suspect has not shown any clear indications to surrender. With how the situation is escalating, a Special Response Team was activated and sent to neutralize the threat quickly and provide advanced police tactics.

Apart from local authorities, Brooke County Sheriff’s Office, Hancock County EMS, and West Virginia State Police are all in the vicinity.
