A Moroccan-Canadian Twitch streamer and YouTuber, Imane Anys (/imn aenis/; Arabic: , born 14 May 1996) is better known by her online moniker Pokimane (/pokimn/). In particular, she is well-known for her League of Legends and Fortnite-focused Twitch shows.
Among women streamers, she has the largest fan base right now. She is a part of the team behind the online social entertainment platform OfflineTV.
Controversy
Imane “Pokimane” Anys has, surprisingly, been banned from Twitch.
Pokimane, so far, has been one of the most reliable streamers on Twitch. Pokimane has managed to avoid the controversies, offline turmoil, and permanent bans that have plagued other well-known users of the site.
Considering that Pokimane hasn’t caused any drama, her suspension comes as something of a shock. This is Pokimane’s very first ban from Twitch.
A DMCA takedown notice was issued to Pokimane in January, prompting the suspension. She made a rare error of judgment by showing her viewers episodes of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Because of this, Viacom, the parent company of Nickelodeon, filed a copyright claim in an expected and timely fashion.
When it comes to intellectual property of its own, Viacom is notoriously pushy, and Avatar is no exception.
Pokimane survived the first eleven episodes of the series until being banned following the infamous The Great Divide, in which a tribal dispute is hastily settled by Aang’s fabrication of a fantastical tale.

For How Long Will Pokimane Be Unable to Stream on Twitch?
When Pokimane streamed many episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Twitch suspended his account for two days.
Although Pokimane has clearly violated the DMCA, Twitch isn’t taking any drastic action against him. She announced her planned two-day Twitter hiatus in a tweet.
Even though this was Pokimane’s first time being banned from Twitch, she took it in stride. When she was banned from Twitter, she made light of the situation by joking that “the fire country invaded.”
She’ll be absent from the internet for a while, but her return will be celebrated with a big party. After announcing her return, she stated that her comeback stream will last for 12 hours.
This will also help her make up for the cash she lost from not receiving subscriptions and donations for those two days.
YouTube
Anys has a number of YouTube channels, including Pokimane, Pokimane Too, Pokimane VODS, Poki ASMR, and imane, in addition to her Twitch streams. The Pokimane channel features edited gaming clips from streams, while the Pokimane Too channel features unrelated clips from her gaming content, vlogs, and podcast.
Video-on-demand (VOD) snippets from full streams are posted in their entirety on the Pokimane VODS channel. While Anys no longer updates the Poki ASMR channel, it still has videos that are part of the larger YouTube community of ASMR content.
In 2021, Anys established a new channel simply titled “imane,” where she discusses more personal themes and vlogs than gaming-related topics.
To describe the motivation for OfflineTV, of which he is a part, Anys has said, “it’s not enjoyable being a streamer and living alone, so we wanted to come together in a way so we not only keep each other company but also collab and genuinely make excellent work and material for everyone.”

On the recommendation of Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, Anys became a partner and creative director at their clothing label Cloak in June 2020.
A cameo appearance by Anys may be seen in Bella Poarch’s August 2021 music video for the song “Inferno.”
The talent management and brand consultancy firm RTS, which Anys helped develop and will lead as its Chief Creative Officer, was revealed in October 2021.
