Controversy

Shockingly, management at Lucasfilm has decided to end Gina Carano’s Star Wars voyage by terminating her contract. Carano, who has been in the news for the past year due to her social and political posts, was apparently only waiting for the appropriate time to be fired.

After an old tweet of Pedro Pascal’s from 2018 surfaced, some Star Wars fans are calling for him to be treated the same way as his co-star Carano. Pascal also compared the United States to Nazi Germany in the same tweet.

June 2018’s tweet features a photo of youngsters in both Nazi concentration camps and American detention centers, with the simple phrase #ThisisAmerica.

Once again, the “controversial” tweet went viral, this time attracting the attention of commentators like Ben Shapiro and Donald Trump Jr., son of former U.S. President Donald Trump Sr., who both criticized the company for firing Carano but keeping Pascal, who had almost made the same mistake as the actress.

People are certain that Lucasfilm should also terminate Pascal because of that tweet, even though it was posted three years ago. It got to the point that the hashtag “#FirePedroPascal” was trending on Twitter. Below are some examples of enthusiastic responses from fans:

Pascal has been silent so far on the matter

It’s a confusing and chaotic environment that’s already producing problems online. At this time, Lucasfilm is standing hard on its decision to remove Gina from the Star Wars series, and it will be interesting to watch what they do next, especially in light of the fact that fans have also dragged Pascal into the dispute.
