Paul Anthony Pierce (born October 13, 1977) is a retired NBA basketball player from the United States. He spent the majority of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics, where he played for 19 seasons. He most recently worked as a basketball analyst for ESPN’s The Jump and NBA Countdown shows.
In the NBA Career

In January 2000, Paul Pierce attempted a dunk. The Boston Celtics selected Pierce with the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA draught, a franchise Pierce despised as a kid. In 10 of his first 11 games, he had a point total of 19 or higher. He averaged 16.5 points per game last season and was voted Rookie of the Year in third place.
He improved to 19.5 points per game in his second season. Pierce played in 82 games (all starts) in the 2000–01 season, averaging 25.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.68 steals in 38.0 minutes per game. He led the Celtics to an eighth-place finish in points per game and a fourth-place finish in total points (2,071). After averaging 30.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.60 steals for the month of March 2001, he was awarded NBA Player of the Month.

Controversy
Paul Pierce had a fun run on ESPN, and his departure was almost as poetic as his really fiery takes. For his contributions, the Boston Celtics legend was frequently chastised.
He was frequently critical of LeBron James, belittling The King’s contributions to the game, earning him a lot of backlash from fans. He didn’t leave the multimedia behemoths for this reason, however.
Pierce launched an Instagram Live a few months ago, showcasing him and several buddies playing cards. That was perfectly usual, but The Truth had brought over a few extra guests. He was surrounded by exotic dancers who smoked cigarettes and seemed to be living the high life. The company’s managers were not pleased, and the former player-turned-analyst was fired a few days later. Pierce has joined Showtime and appears to be content with his decision.

Pierce worked as an NBA analyst for ESPN after he retired from playing. Pierce was fired by the global leader in sports in April, three days after posting a video on Instagram Live of himself drinking and smoking while playing poker with exotic dancers in the background.
“The next morning, when I wake up… There were 200 texts on my phone when I came home “Beadle, Pierce’s old ESPN colleague, stated to Pierce. “My Twitter account is currently humming. I don’t know what happened… I passed out on the couch. I wake up to a barrage of phone calls from various folks, and I’m like, “Damn, what happened?” Was there a fatality?”
Following that, No. 34 launched a barrage of insults against the world’s sports leader. He first said that good things were on their way to him, displaying no regret for his Instagram shenanigans.
He continued to criticize his old employers, but that is now in the past. He’s in good shape and looking forward to new challenges. Pierce was one of ESPN’s most entertaining analysts, and many fans, particularly those who listen to Kendrick Perkins, will miss him.
