Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner and who was born on January 5, 1969, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, painter, and author.
He co-founded the band in 1989 with guitarist Daisy Berkowitz and is still the sole permanent member, but he has become notorious for his controversial stage behavior and image as the band’s lead singer.
Like the other band members, his stage name is a combination and juxtaposition of the names of two polarising figures in American popular culture: in this case, a sex icon (Marilyn Monroe) and a notorious criminal (the cult leader Charles Manson).
Controversy
The combination of Manson’s public image and the content of his 1990s albums—Portrait of an American Family (1994), Antichrist Superstar (1996), and Mechanical Animals (1998)—earned him a reputation as a controversial person and a detrimental influence on young people in the mainstream media.
Three of the band’s albums have been certified platinum, and three more have gone gold; eight of the band’s LPs have debuted in the top ten, including two at No. 1.
In response to Evan Rachel Wood’s “malicious fabrication” regarding Marilyn Manson’s alleged sexual assault, Manson has filed a defamation lawsuit against Wood.

According to A Complaint Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday
and obtained by Variety, Brian Warner, aka s Marilyn Manson., claims that Wood and “her on-again, off-again romantic partner” Ashley Gore has “publicly cast” him as a “rapist and abuser — a malicious falsehood that has derailed Warner’s successful music, TV, and film career.”
Moreover, the filing states that Wood and Gore pretended to be a member of the FBI “by forging and distributing a fictitious letter from the agent, to create the false appearance that Warner’s alleged ‘victims’ and their families were in danger, and that there was a federal criminal investigation of Warner ongoing.”
There are claims that Manson filmed a sexual assault on a youngster and that Wood and Gore “offered checklists and scripts” to accusers who made such claims.
A jury trial has been requested by Manson, who claims to have been the victim of online impersonation as well as the deliberate infliction of mental distress and a breach of the Comprehensive Computer Data and Access Fraud Act.
The Publicists for Wood and Gore Did Not Immediately Respond to Variety’s Request for Comment
Wood is just one of several women who have come out with allegations of sexual abuse against Manson since the beginning of this year. At the time, Wood made an Instagram post in which he said, “My abuser’s name is Brian Warner, better known a When I was a teenager, he began grooming me for years of awful torture.
My mind was corrupted and I was brainwashed into servitude. I can no longer put up with being threatened with retribution, slander, or blackmail.
This dangerous man must be exposed, and the numerous industries that have helped him must be called out before he can harm any more lives. Many victims have had enough, and I support them in speaking up.
In 2007, when she was 19 and he was 38, the public learned about Wood and Manson’s relationship. In 2010, they were engaged but by the end of the year, they had called off the engagement.
The claims against Manson led to him being dropped from his record label, management, and CAA, as well as his involvement on the show “American Gods.”
After the success of her Sundance premiere and upcoming HBO broadcast of “Phoenix Rising,” Manson has decided to sue Wood.
“Phoenix Rising” delves deeper into the enactment of Wood’s Phoenix Act, which extends the statute of limitations for domestic abuse prosecutions in California, and provides more information about Woods’ charges against Manson.

There are some moderately positive reviews of the absinthe, such as those written by members of The Wormwood Society. During an interview in 2015, Manson said he had given off absinthe.
