Grayson James Allen (born October 8, 1995) is an NBA player for the Milwaukee Bucks (NBA). At Duke University, he played four years of basketball. Allen was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 21st overall choice in the 2018 NBA draught, where he spent one season until being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in July 2019. Allen joined the Bucks in August 2021.

In 2015, he helped Duke win the national championship, but a series of tripping incidents overshadowed his accomplishments.

He’s been dubbed one of Duke’s top collegiate basketball players of the decade.

Career Overview

Allen averaged 14.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 142 games during his four years at Duke. He shot.430 from the field,.380 from three, and.834 from the line. Allen ranked 12th on Duke’s all-time scoring list with 1,996 points. Allen appeared in 15 NCAA Tournament games for Duke, helping them win the NCAA National Championship in 2015. In 2016, he became the sixth Blue Devil to gain both All-America and Academic All-America honors in the same year. Allen was also a four-time All-ACC Academic selection.

The Grizzlies traded Allen to the Milwaukee Bucks on August 7, 2021, in exchange for Sam Merrill and two future second-round draught selections. Jon Horst, the Bucks’ general manager, said: “Grayson Allen is a skilled defender… We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Milwaukee because of his three-point shooting, intensity, toughness, and basketball IQ.” Allen reportedly agreed to a two-year, $20 million rookie-scale agreement with the Bucks on October 18th. He made his NBA debut the next day, scoring ten points, six assists, and four rebounds in a win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Allen fouled opposing guard Alex Caruso and was dismissed from the game after receiving a flagrant 2 foul on January 21, 2022, during a game against the Chicago Bulls.

After the game, Bulls coach Billy Donovan publicly chastised Allen, claiming that he “could’ve ruined [Caruso’s] career” because of his history of risky plays.  Caruso was out for 6 to 8 weeks due to a fractured right wrist.

In the newest NBA incident, Grayson Allen has sparked debate

NBA fans on social media are quick to put former Duke basketball player Grayson Allen under the bus whenever the Memphis Grizzlies (10-11) are involved in any sort of scandal.

On Friday night, though, against the Los Angeles Lakers, the situation was the polar opposite (21-6).

LeBron James was sandwiched between Dillon Brooks and Allen after the Lakers’ missed jumper.

As the four-time NBA Champion flailed to the floor, the former Blue Devil was able to collect the rebound, resulting in a foul on Brooks and the Lakers maintaining possession.

As much as people on social media despise Grayson Allen, the flop was so evident that the detractors choose to blame LeBron than the previous National Champion with the Blue Devils.

Following the game, LeBron James and teammate Kyle Kuzma were both issued harsh flopping warnings for a following play in the Lakers’ 115-105 victory.

A player can be penalised $5,000 for each flop violation beyond the initial warning, according to the NBA’s new flopping violations rules. If a player is called for flopping more than six times in a season, he may face a stiffer penalty or ban.
