Andrew Tate Controversy: Explaining His Sexist Controversy

Kickboxer Emory Andrew Tate (born December 14, 1986) is an American-British kickboxer and Internet star located in Romania. He acquired a reputation for his sexist views and engagement in the manosphere after his kickboxing career.

Career

Even though Tate was said to have worked selling television advertising in 2009, he had been training in boxing and martial arts on the side since 2005, according to his LinkedIn page. He won the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) Full Contact Cruiserweight Championship in Derby, England, and was ranked first in Europe at his weight. In spite of having won 17 of his previous 19 matches, he declared that this was his first belt and title.

Jean-Luc Benoit prevailed on points in a 12-round battle for the vacant ISKA World Full-Contact Light Heavyweight Championships over Tate, and the bout ended in a draw. This time, Tate won the title by knockout in the eighth round of a 12-round fight against Benoit in Luton, England, three months later.

Tate won his second ISKA world championship in 2013 in a 12-round battle. His second world title in two different weight divisions. Châteaurenard, France, was the venue for the battle. Iska World Full-Contact Light Cruiserweight Champion Tate was awarded the title on a split decision.

His unorthodox views on sexual assault have made him famous

When he relocated to Romania in 2017, the multi-millionaire made headlines for his claims about why he made the trip to Eastern Europe. On Tate‘s YouTube channel, a video from which we can no longer access, he claims that rape charges are “40 percent of the reason I moved to Romania.” Many others questioned Tate’s decision to relocate at the same time as the #MeToo movement began, and if he was guilty of sexual assault and intended to flee the repercussions.

As a result of Tate’s anti-MeToo sentiments, he was banned from Twitter in 2017. A removed tweet sparked accusations of victim-blaming from numerous people. “With sexual assault, they want to put 0% culpability on the victim whatsoever,” he tweeted. “If you put yourself in a situation to be raped, you must bear some responsibility.”

Investigations are ongoing for human trafficking

The Daily Beast reported in April 2022 that Romanian authorities were investigating Tate after a raid on his residence, which began when a woman was claimed to be imprisoned against her will.

The investigation has not yet resulted in any charges or arrests. They joked on their podcast that a woman’s boyfriend had called the police because her friends “wouldn’t let her leave” one of Tate and Tristan Tate’s parties.

According to him, some women put themselves at risk of being raped

The Harvey Weinstein scandal in 2017 sparked the #MeToo movement, which prompted Andrew to offer his opinion on what he considered harassment. “Sexual harassment is abhorrent and unforgivable,” he tweeted, according to the Metro. A man staring at you, whistling in your ear, or even asking your name isn’t considered harassment.

Women have been trading sex for money for a very long time,” he remarked. This was done by a few people. We’re not subjected to any form of maltreatment. […] Putting yourself in a situation to be raped means you must bear some of the blame.

As a result, his Twitter account was suspended and all of his tweets were deleted from the site. However, he has subsequently been able to construct three additional accounts to tweet from, and one of these accounts was confirmed in January of this year.

It’s easier to rape women in Romania, so he relocated there, he added

A video of Andrew on Twitter has surfaced in which he claims that rape charges are simpler to avoid in Eastern European countries. – A video shows him saying this is “probably 40% of the reason” for moving to the area.

There is something appealing to him about the thought of doing what he pleases, even though “I’m not a rapist,” as he puts it. “I enjoy being able to make my own decisions.” His YouTube channel used to have the video, but it was taken down.
